“I was already working on a separate research project when I heard about the project that became my thesis. I approached my thesis advisor and started on my thesis project. My least favorite part of my project was cleaning all of the specimen for study. As a result I do not eat much beef anymore. The hardest part of the entire thesis writing process for me was having to rewrite several drafts. I’m pretty sure I read my thesis 1000 times. My favorite part of the entire process was getting to conduct independent research and share what I did in my thesis defense. I am not big on speaking in front of others, or standing up for myself. My thesis defense was the most stressful thing I’ve ever done, but it got me out of my comfort zone and more comfortable talking about myself and my research. To those of you working on your thesis right now, just remember that it will all be worth it. You will get it done, even if it seems impossible.
