The most impactful times of my undergraduate career occurred when I stepped outside the bounds of base-level class requirements. From study groups to research groups, conference presentations to class camping trips, I found a love for the geosciences through putting in effort outside of class and just “showing up” (even on the weekends). I’ve found that it’s much more beneficial (for me) to be persistent than to overwork myself. Burn out is very real. Stay passionate and stay persistent!
